CannaTelehealth is brand agnostic and does not supply or sell medication. Our fees relate only to the healthcare services provided. Medication costs vary significantly depending on your condition and the therapy recommended. As the TGA restricts the publication of product names and prices, your telehealth doctor will discuss any prescribed medication during your consultation, including potential RRP, so you are fully informed before proceeding.
We will send your prescriptions to KarmaPharma, our trusted national pharmacy partner specialising in alternative therapy dispensing. KarmaPharma never charges above RRP, sources stock for next-day delivery whenever possible, and provides all required regulatory paperwork. The pharmacy will invoice you directly for your medication and any delivery fees.
For full details, please refer to our Pricing and Billing Policy.
CannaTelehealth connects patients with online doctors who have extensive experience and additional training in natural and alternative therapy prescribing. Our practitioners work closely with experienced pharmacists who specialise in dispensing and distributing these treatments, ensuring a safe and informed care pathway.
You can register your interest and book an initial consultation directly through the CannaTelehealth website. During your appointment, your practitioner will assess your condition, determine whether alternative therapies may be suitable, and issue a prescription if clinically appropriate.
Once a prescription is provided, we will forward it to KarmaPharma, our trusted national pharmacy partner. KarmaPharma specialises in alternative therapy dispensing, never charges above RRP, sources stock for next-day delivery when available, and provides all required regulatory paperwork.
Our services are accessible online 24/7, allowing you to receive professional healthcare from the privacy of your home without needing to travel to a clinic or pharmacy. You can contact us via phone, email or through our website.
Convenient, trusted and knowledgeable care, wherever you are.
No. CannaTelehealth is purely a Telehealth clinic that offers both video and phone call consultations. We do this at the request of the patient. We know some patients prefer to only speak via the phone. That is perfectly okay for us.
As we are an online clinic, we have no geographic boundaries. There is always a doctor nearby. We have consulted over our long-time offering, Telehealth consultations, to nearly every postcode in Australia.
CannaTelehealth connects patients with healthcare professionals who have completed specialised training in alternative medicine and have been approved by our Clinical Director for their understanding of natural therapies. Our practitioners include qualified Australian doctors, authorised prescribers, and clinicians experienced in holistic and natural treatments. All consultations are completed by doctors who are authorised prescribers, or currently progressing through the authorisation pathway, and trained specifically in the delivery of safe and effective telehealth care.
During your consultation, your doctor will assess your condition and determine whether an alternative treatment is clinically appropriate. If a prescription is issued, the next steps are designed to be simple, transparent and secure:
Once your doctor determines that an alternative treatment is appropriate, an eScript is issued and can be provided to you via email or SMS for your records. At the same time, all eScripts generated through CannaTelehealth are sent directly to KarmaPharma, our trusted national partner pharmacy specialising in alternative therapy dispensing. You do not need to take any further steps, as we securely forward the eScript, the required TGA regulatory documents and your treatment details straight to the KarmaPharma dispensing team.
We use KarmaPharma because their pharmacists are experts in alternative therapies, they never charge above RRP, they prioritise fast fulfilment with stock sourced for next-day delivery whenever possible, and they manage all compliance requirements on your behalf. Their team will also contact you directly to confirm product availability, delivery arrangements and payment details.
Once confirmed, your medication is dispatched directly to your home, with pick-up options available where suitable. If you choose to use a different pharmacy, you will need to inform us so we can send the TGA documentation to them, though many pharmacies are not familiar with dispensing these treatments, which can lead to delays or refusal to supply. For this reason, KarmaPharma remains our recommended pharmacy partner.
An Authorised Prescriber is a doctor who has been approved by the Therapeutic Goods Administration to prescribe certain unapproved therapeutic goods, such as specific medical cannabis products, to patients who may benefit from them. This approval allows the doctor to prescribe these products without needing to apply to the TGA each time, which streamlines access for suitable patients.
To become an Authorised Prescriber, the doctor must demonstrate appropriate clinical expertise, ensure they can monitor patient outcomes, and meet all reporting and regulatory requirements.
CannaTelehealth delivers all services through our integrated digital platform, OnePhenix, giving you a seamless way to manage your appointments and care. Once registered, you can book your telehealth consultation online, with all services accessible from our home page using a single, secure login.
What sets us apart from a standard GP telehealth appointment is the depth of support behind every consultation. Our doctors use The Compendium, a comprehensive database of all TGA-listed medical cannabis products in Australia, ensuring every recommendation is informed, current, and tailored to your condition.
Your treatment plan is also supported by our partnership with KarmaPharma. Any eScripts issued during your consultation are forwarded directly to this trusted national partner pharmacy, streamlining dispensing and removing extra steps for you.
Together, these tools allow us to deliver care that is more convenient, personalised, and efficient than a typical telehealth service.
Our team at CannaTelehealth needs a complete understanding of your health background to develop an accurate and thorough treatment plan. During the booking process, you’ll be asked to provide key information such as your medical history, current medications, and any relevant documents from your regular GP or specialists, including referrals, scans or pathology results. Having these details ready before your consultation helps prevent delays, as your healthcare professional may otherwise need to request them during the appointment.
Because these therapies are considered second-line treatments, it’s important to show that you’ve previously tried conventional options without sufficient success. Your initial consultation will take up to 30 minutes, depending on the condition and Doctor, during which the healthcare professional will assess your symptoms, overall health and treatment history to determine the most appropriate next steps.
Yes. If you decide to move to another service, we can provide you with a discharge letter that you can upload to the new clinic’s portal. You’ll need to request this, and please allow 2–3 days for it to be emailed to you.
If you plan to change clinics, keep in mind that your new doctor will usually require you to provide all your medical information again during an initial consultation, as they must review your full history before continuing care.
Your privacy is important to us. We also take the security and confidentiality of personal information and medical records very seriously. CannaTelehealth adheres to all privacy laws, and uses strict security protocols in order to safeguard your personal information.
In order for our Online Telehealth doctors to legally write your name on the prescription, they must verify that you are indeed who you claim to be. This process does not take long to complete. At CannaTelehealth we use IHI Digital ID for this purpose. Once initially verified you are fine to proceed.
Medicare Card allows us to identify you through your IHI # which will be verified at the time of booking https://www.servicesaustralia.gov.au/medicare-card
Otherwise an Australian drivers license https://www.mygovid.gov.au/verifying-your-drivers-licence
Passport other than Australian with current Australian Visa https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/already-have-a-visa/check-visa-details-and-conditions/check-conditions-online/visa-holders

If it is your first time with CannaTelehealth you will need to conduct an eligibility test. This should only take a couple of minutes. Once found eligible you have a choice of either booking an ‘Initial eligibility screening’ with a Nurse Practitioner or an Initial Consultation with a Online GP.
You will receive 30 minutes dedicated time to talk with your CannaTelehealth online Telehealth doctor. Your practitioner will be able to better understand you, your symptoms and your medical condition by booking an Initial Consultation.
Be prepared for this consultation and write notes as the doctor mentions the treatment steps. You might want to research websites such as https://catalyst.honahlee.com.au/ or https://cannareviewsau.co/ where they provide educational material that could help better arm you with information for the initial consultation.
Follow up and repeat consultations are generally shorter than the initial consultation. These online consultations take approx 15 mins. However if the medication, symptoms or detailed questions asked to your doctor, it may take longer. This could be a long follow up consultation.
At CannaTelehealth we do not do anything with your medical records without your consent. The clinical records remain the property of the Healthcare Professional and the Clinic.
CannaTelehealth has a cloud based system that allows all practitioners within our clinic to view your clinical records which includes medications and treatment plans. We invite any healthcare professionals to be part of our Clinical team which would allow them to review your history.
If you wish to change doctors within our organisation please request this with our Care Team. If however you have already had a consultation with the other doctor you will still be required to pay them for their time even if you want to change to another doctor.
We will confirm all appointments in writing and in your time zone. The Doctor will try to call you as close as possible to your chosen time. They will be calling from a Private number so please make sure you accept this call.
CannaTelehealth is part of the Australian owned Phenix group of brands that have been providing online consultations for over ten years. We only ever contract with registered AHPRA Healthcare professionals who carry all necessary registrations, training and insurances. We connect also with onshore only pharmacy groups and provide medication scripts for only TGA approved medications.
While medicinal cannabis is legal in Australia, it is still highly regulated. The TGA has not yet approved it for general use, meaning that you must visit a doctor who is trained in the prescription of medicinal cannabis. They will apply for permission to allow you to use medicinal cannabis, and organise to have it prescribed and sent to you.
All of our doctors are trained in the prescription of medicinal cannabis, and you can follow our simple four-step process to access medicinal cannabis.
1. Check eligibility (attach booking form link)
2. Book appointment
3. Wait for approval
4. Receive your medicinal cannabis at your door.
It is important to note the difference between recreational cannabis and medicinal cannabis. Recreational, unregulated cannabis remains illegal in Australia, but regulated, medicinal cannabis was legalised across Australia in 2016.
The specific rules and regulations about prescribing and accessing medicinal cannabis still vary state by state, and its use is highly regulated by the TGA. That is why doctors must have specific training in the prescription of medicinal cannabis to become an authorised prescriber.
Telehealth or telemedicine, is the delivery of healthcare services, such as patient education, medical care, health information, and other services, via digital and telecommunications technologies. Telehealth can be achieved through a variety of technologies, including mobile health apps, video and phone consultations and remote monitoring. Virtual consultations between a doctor and patient should be secure, private and easy to book online.
Telehealth refers to a consultation with a medical professional that you can do remotely via the phone or the internet. The popularity of telehealth is increasing, as it provides access to specialised services Australia-wide, and provides an essential service without requiring a face-to-face appointment.
As an established and experienced telehealth provider, we conduct all of our telehealth sessions via a secure program. You will be able to arrange for an online appointment – but apart from that, your experience will be just like seeing a GP in person.
CannaTelehealth uses the software OnePhenix which has been specifically designed for the Medicinal Cannabis prescribers market. This allows the patient a one stop shop for all patient needs.
We provide you with the option to choose if you wish to have a video or telephone only consultation. If you do want a video consultation please either use your mobile phone camera and connect to the link provided or a webcam through your computer.
This is entirely up to you. We will not force you to have a video consultation. Having an online doctors consultation is easy with CannaTelehealth. Should you have problems with technology please revert to the phone consultation or call our friendly care team on 07 3053 5325.
Since 2016, medical cannabis has been legal in Australia. Nevertheless, the laws governing its prescription, use, and accessibility vary from state to state in Australia. In a number countries, such as Australia, Canada, UK, and certain states in the US that allow access to medicinal marijuana in specific circumstances, most commonly when other treatments have failed, it is legal. The Therapeutic Goods Administration in Australia regulates the use of medicinal cannabis. All applications must be approved by TGA. Only your doctor may apply to the TGA for medicinal cannabis.
Check the laws around accessing medical cannabis in your state by visiting: https://www.tga.gov.au/how-we-regulate/ingredients-and-scheduling-medicines-and-chemicals/poisons-standard-and-scheduling-medicines-and-chemicals/scheduling/contacts-stateterritory-medicines-poisons-regulation-units
The Authorised Prescriber Scheme allows authorised medical practitioners to prescribe medicines, medical devices or biologicals that are not included in the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods to a class of patients with a particular medical condition.
The final decision may come down to the TGA for your eligibility your current medication state based prescribed and dispensed medications.
If you have a consultation with a Nurse Practitioner you will not have to pay an out of pocket cost if you have an eligible Medicare card. However if you speak to a doctor you will need to pay for the initial online telehealth consultation. There is not guarantee that you will be eligible for a consultation therefore you will need to pay for each consultation.

Medicinal cannabis and recreational cannabis are both created by extracting chemicals from the cannabis Sativa plant for consumption, however, it is important not to confuse the two.
Medicinal cannabis is carefully created just like any other medicine, to ensure that it abides by strict standards of quality control, safety, and dosages of active ingredients. The usage of medicinal cannabis is carefully monitored by doctors with training in the endocannabinoid system in the body. In comparison, recreational cannabis is not created by qualified professionals and has unquantified amounts of active ingredients – it may be too weak or too strong. It can also contain harmful impurities and other chemicals that pose a risk to you.
This is why it is essential to consult with a medical professional if you are considering medicinal cannabis as a treatment, to ensure the best chances of success.
Another key difference is that medicinal cannabis is often prescribed without the ‘high’ that occurs from recreational cannabis, allowing you to experience fewer side effects.
The highest Australian standards of quality and safety are required for all legal medicinal cannabis products. Cannabinoid (e.g. THC, CBD, contamination, pesticides, and toxins are all tested. Knowing what is in the product you are using to treat a medical condition and what dosage to take can be a huge difference for your health.

It is best to consult your online resources for this. https://www.medicinalcannabis.nsw.gov.au/patients/travel
It is best to consult the research on this. There are definitely side effects you should consider. https://adf.org.au/drug-facts/medicinal-cannabis/
Many medicinal cannabis products include tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which is the psychoactive ingredient in medicinal cannabis. There is a wide range of evidence which clearly shows that THC makes drivers much less safe, meaning that people who are taking medicinal cannabis containing THC should not drive or operate heavy machinery. There is currently no research identifying a ‘safe’ dose to drive on – exposure to products containing THC can significantly increase the risk of a car crash – even if drivers don’t feel impaired.
